Butterflies Are Taking Off!
The Main Street Board unveiled the “Things are Taking Off” Butterfly Public Art Project in 2008 introducing public art in the form of butterflies painted by local artists. The original collection is currently being inventoried and checked for condition for maintenance of the collection.
The Main Street Board is currently working with artists on Phase II of the project, which should be installed in the fall along with the original collection! Meet "Hope" (photographed at right) the first of the new collection of butterflies to be completed! "Hope" was created by Hapeville artist, Kaity Ferrero.
