Pleasant Hours Club

HAPEVILLE'S NO. 1 TREASURE:

OUR FANTASTIC, EXCITING & ENERGETIC SENIORS!  JOIN US FOR MONTHLY TRIPS
& SPECIAL EVENTS!

Pleasant Hours Club meets the first Wednesday of each month to discuss local happening in the community and enjoy lunch together.   Meetings begin at  10:30 a.m. in the Conference room of the Hoyt Smith Center. Please bring a dish to share. Beside each month there is a color, and the color is used to suggest a food to bring  as your side item to help us eat more healthy, or you can use the color to wear to the meeting; its just for fun its not required.  Food Suggestions based on the color of the month are listed beneath the Pleasant Hour Club meetings.

Themed  Pleasant Hours Club meetings:

Jan.6th  - Happy New Year  with a tasty New Years  brunch!

Feb. 3rd—Hillbilly Ho-Down, spend the morning with friends and listen to your favorite of old time music and eat some great BBQ.

Mar 2nd– Italian

April 6th– Come dressed for a luau or in something colorful!

May 4th– We will be serving delicious hamburgers and chicken!

Sept 7th– Ice Cream Social, turn that ice cream into a a super sundae.

Oct. 5th—Mystery meal, perhaps a who done it will happen during the meeting.

Nov. 2nd- Senior 50’s Party. Wear your 50’s attire, and bring a picture of you from the 50’s. 

Dec. 2nd– Christmas Catered Luncheon

Blue/Purple: Blackberries, blueberries, cabbage, currants, eggplant, grapes, plums, raisins, purple potatoes, figs, beets, purple asparagus
Green: Avocado, apples, grapes, honeydew melon, kiwi, limes, pears, artichoke, arugula, asparagus, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, celery, cucumber, lettuce, peas, peppers, spinach, zucchini
White: Bananas, pears, nectarines, white peaches, cauliflower, garlic, ginger, artichoke, jicama, mushrooms, onions, parsnips, coconut, shallots, turnips, corn
Orange/Yellow: Bananas, apples, apricots, cantaloupe, grapefruit, oranges, mangoes, nectarines, peaches, pineapple, tangerine, melon, beets, squash, corn, peppers, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, pears
Red: Apples, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, watermelon, strawberries, pomegranate, peppers, tomatoes, radishes, rhubarb, red onion, red potatoes, red pears.
