Call For Artists - City of Hapeville Public Art
City of Hapeville is seeking artists interested in transforming ordinary crosswalks/sidewalks into playful, kid friendly paths. Artwork and material should be appropriate for outdoors and active pedestrian usage. This call is open to all professional artists.
One artist will be selected and will be paid $2,500 for labor and up to $600 for travel arrangements.
City of Hapeville is a government entity that follows its LCI/Comprehensive Plan to include public art and the Main Street goal of becoming a regional arts destination. This project is specific to a crosswalk and/or sidewalk mural based on the element of play (hopscotch, connect the dots, etc.) and art suitable to children.
Artists will be provided with paint colors and brushes.
Artist may bring their own volunteer(s) to help with installation.
Crosswalk/sidewalk murals must incorporate an element of play (hopscotch, connect the dots, etc.)
Artwork must be suitable for public viewing and be free of advertising or logos.
