Busy Bee Summer Camp 2018

Fun! Friends! Games! Trips! Food! Come see what the  buzz is all about at our Busy Bee Summer Camp! Children ages 5 to 12 years old.  Each child will enjoy a fun-filled camp supervised by a creative and energetic staff  in addition to many field trips. We offer two sessions of camp: First session is June 4th—29th, 2018 and the second session  is July 2nd—27th, 2018. Each camp session cost residents $250 and non residents $300 per session. A one-time registration  fee of $20 includes a camp T-shirt to be worn on field trips. Camp opens at 7:30 am, with breakfast served until 9:00 a.m., lunch served at noon and camp ending at 6:00 pm. Payment for one month camp session is due at registration. Hapeville Residents may register for summer camp beginning in January  and non-residents may register after March 30th, 2018.

Jazzy Girls

This class will explore controlled movements while increasing coordination and motor skills. Dancers must wear comfortable clothing and jazz shoes. Children will perform during half time of numerous basketball games, a Mothers Day recital, and a spring recital. Each dancer will be required to have the following materials: Black Leotard, Black Jazz Pants, Black Jazz Shoes.
DATES: January  - May  2018
COST: $25 a month 
TIME: Tuesdays & Thursdays 6 p.m.-7 p.m. 
AGES: Children ages 6-12 years 

Girls Aiming Towards Positivity Mentoring Program

Come join us every Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30pm for our new mentoring program for girls ages 10-12. Shacole Pearman will lead the girls each week in various activities including public speaking, confidence building skills, dance, community service, and much more. Meditation & Story Time for Children

Come join us for this new class every Monday from 4-5pm for 8-12 year olds and 5:15 to 6:15pm for ages 13-18. This program will teach children to breathe correctly and will also include reading from a positive self-esteem book. Meditation for children can help memory and concentration, improve relationships at home and school, reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, decrease aggressiveness and anxiety, improve behaviors and attitude, improve focus, and promote inner peace. The Hoyt Smith Center is happy to announce that we will be providing a floor gymnastics class beginning in Fall. Floor gymnastics will focus on handstands, backbends, front and backwards rolls, and even handsprings! Taekwondo (for children  4-17 years)  meets every  Monday from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. The cost is $55 a month.  Taekwondo improves the individual’s physical and mental skills, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and self-esteem. The goal is to achieve “Personal Victory” in class and life, by upholding the traditional values of loyalty, honor, integrity, respect, courtesy, and self-discipline while having fun.

Girl Scouts

“With the Girl Scouts, you'll    make a bunch of new friends   and have a ton of new experiences. This program highlights how exciting the world is, and how awesome you are. So what are you waiting for? Start the fun today! Girls are always planning their next adventure together and there are so many ways to have fun! Maybe it’s artistic. Maybe it’s an experiment. Maybe it’s helping the community. Explore the possibilities.  

Program Fee: $15 per year (October 1st- September 30th)

Uniform Fee: $20 Daisy (K-1st) and $15 Brownie

(2nd-3rd), Junior (4th-5th), and Cadets (6th-8th)

Classes held in the dining hall of the Recreation center from 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month for Girls Scouts.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts in an active program that helps boys to learn by doing. Scouting helps to teach leadership and character and builds confidence and social skills. It also teaches the value of service and citizenship and brings families closer together. Cost is $24 a year and meets every Thursday at the Hoyt Smith Center from 5:00-6:00pm. Busy Bee After-Care

The Busy Bee Club is for children ages 5 - 11 years. Come and join us for some old fashioned after school fun!!
Some of the things a participant can expect are: Arts & Crafts, Fun & Games and more!

Dates / Times / Registration
The Busy Bees meet Monday through Friday 2:30 - 6:30 p.m. (School Days Only)
Fees are $125 per month per child. Register at Hoyt Smith Center during normal business hours.
