Short-Term Rental Permit (STR)
Welcome to the City of Hapeville, Georgia!
This page contains information that will help guide you through the licensing process. Please do not rent your properties until you have completed all the steps necessary for your license. As a result of non-compliance, you will be subject to Hapeville code violations.
On October 4, 2022, the City of Hapeville Mayor and Council adopted the short-term rental ordinance. The City has begun enforcing this new ordinance, by using Granicus to identify STR properties and implement inspections regarding the permitting process.

Do I qualify for a STR permit?
- Must be a Hapeville Resident
- Must have current Fulton County Homestead Exemption.
If you meet these requirements, you can proceed with completing an application. Please note, the application must be notarized before it can be submitted.
FEE
$250.00 application fee for the primary dwelling.
$1,000 application fee for the second STR dwelling

Short-term Rental Application
All short-term rental permits are valid from January through December of each year. STR owners must renew their license(s) on or before the expiration date of December 31st.
All STR owners will be referred to the Occupational Tax Permit Clerk for a review of their application. After the application is reviewed and all documents are verified, payment in full must be made before a signed license will be issued.
